The thermal fuse is calibrated to melt around 70°C in order to automatically activate the opening of the smoke vents when a significant rise in ambient temperature is detected.
The thermal fuse is fixed to the 70°C Multiplied Fuse (Ref. 9613) using its two 6.7 mm diameter fixing holes, spaced 40 mm apart , which facilitates its integration on most outlet supports. Its dimensions are 55 × 19 mm, which allows for a quick check of physical compatibility with the equipment in place before installation.
Once installed, the thermal fuse requires little routine maintenance but must be inspected regularly. In the event of tripping, corrosion, or as recommended by the manufacturer, replacement must be carried out by a qualified technician: this article is intended for fire safety companies and their qualified personnel.
