Description

A material designed to protect you

The roll bar is a piece of equipment to prevent personal injury and material damage.

It can be used to protect protruding equipment behind a door or in traffic.

Thanks to its flexible material, the shock is absorbed.

In addition to the prevention rules, its presence may be required for accessibility for people with reduced mobility.

The hoops can be positioned on the wall under the object to be protected, or even on the ground in order to delimit an area.

Examples of uses:

  • - Fire extinguishers
  • - Armoured fire hydrants (RIA)
  • - Gutters
  • - Rising and descending dry columns
  • - Fire network
  • - Gas pipes

Installation and Maintenance

The installation of the hoop is within the reach of anyone with a drill, a level and the appropriate screws.

In case of dirt, a hydrocarbon cleaner is recommended.

Regulatory basis

In general, protective equipment must be judiciously distributed while respecting installation heights and distances to be covered.

For accessibility for people with reduced mobility

- Fire extinguishers have a height between 50 and 70 cm between the base and the handle.

The carrying handle is 1.20 m from the ground maximum (APSAD R4 rule and decree of June 25, 1980).

Which means, for fire extinguishers present in public buildings, a height of more than 0.40 m between the ground and the extinguisher.

For elements more than 0.40 m from the ground, the decree of April 20, 2017 specifies the accessibility methods for disabled people in establishments receiving the public (ERP). requires protection positioned between 15 and 40 cm above the ground.

"In order to be identifiable and to avoid the risk of impact, elements [projecting more than 15 cm] must [have] a detection device to warn of the risk of impact"

"This detection device is located [between 0.15 and 0.40 m above the ground], is contrasted with its immediate environment, has rounded corners and does not have any sharp edges."

Adapting your installer's technical file to have a handle at 1.00 m is a way to legally avoid installing protection.

- The fire hydrants have a radius between 26 and 34 cm.

They have an axis located between 1.20 and 1.80 m from the ground (standard NF S 62-201, NF S 62-203, manufacturer's instructions, APSAD R5).

This means that for RIAs present in public buildings, there must be a protective arch located at a height of between 0.15 and 0.40 m above the ground.

Depending on the thickness of the RIA, it may be more appropriate to position the hoops directly on the ground.
