The NF S 61-919 standard and the manufacturers' recommendations are linked to replacing the additive after 3 years, or even 5 years.
The periodic inspection of auxiliary pressure equipment, mainly manufactured in France, requires an annual opening of the equipment.
The periodic inspection of permanent pressure fire extinguishers, mainly manufactured in Asia, involves opening the devices every 3 or 5 years, or even replacing them (Traveling technician without Nitrogen, unavailability of spare parts).
Handling pressurized equipment is risky. It should only be carried out by qualified technicians, such as those holding a vocational certificate (CAP) as a fire extinguisher inspector.
The BSX 233 emulsifier contains PFAS with a short carbon chain (C6).
In accordance with European Commission Regulation 2024/2462 of 19 September 2024 concerning PFOA of type "C6", portable fire extinguishers, wheeled fire extinguishers, and fixed contained emission extinguishing systems may be maintained indefinitely with BSX 233 foam concentrate.
Having a separate dose greatly limits the risk of release into the environment. This is not the case for PRIMA devices.
When a device is struck during an accident, the environmental damage linked to the additive helps to prevent more extensive damage.
