This adhesive label features the number 7 , in black on a white background, with a height of 25 mm . Sold in sheets of 70 identical stickers , it is used for marking and numbering protective equipment , particularly fire extinguishers.
A practice recommended by the NF S61-919 standard and the APSAD R4 reference guide
The NF S61-919 standard, concerning fire extinguisher maintenance, governs this practice. The APSAD R4 standard also recommends numbering the locations and transferring this numbering to the extinguishers themselves , to allow for quick identification of the installation.
A numbering system useful for monitoring and controlling the fleet
Individually numbering fire extinguishers facilitates their identification and tracking , particularly during inspections and maintenance . Some sites number both the extinguishers and the signage to easily locate a missing extinguisher during an inspection. Others opt for a reverse numbering system, with the lowest number placed furthest from the entrance and the highest closest, allowing the total number of extinguishers on site to be determined by reading only the number closest to the entrance.
A support for the security register
The numbering system allows fire extinguishers to be listed in a report or register , and corrective actions to be included in the safety register as well as in the annual report of the maintenance company.
