This metal shovel can catch approximately 1.5 L of sand, salt or absorbent per shovelful in order to effectively cover a fuel or oil slick.

The square head allows you to scrape the sides and bottom of the tank well.

The shovel is part of the prevention equipment to limit the spread of a fire.

A design to facilitate intervention

Lightweight, with an ergonomic handle, and with a handle length adapted to avoid awkward postures, the shovel allows the intervention of the first person seeing a layer of liquid, whatever their physical abilities. Its curved shape at the back of the head allows it to retain the sand or absorbent, in order to recover a maximum of material with each shovelful. Its square head with rounded ends limits the risk of personal injury and material damage. In order to facilitate the prevention process and to guarantee periodic inspection, it is recommended to leave the shovel visible on a suitable wall support . Regulations sometimes highlight sand, and sometimes absorbent. Our fireproof absorbents and certified for use on roads, will be approximately 90 times more effective than sand.

Labor Code : For the risks mentioned above, among others, article R4227-32 therefore provides for the allocation of a bin and a shovel.

Control procedure

It is the responsibility of the fire safety company to ensure each year that the equipment is present.

The shovel or bucket is checked at the same time as the absorbent (cleanliness, quantity and quality).

There is no specific maintenance rule to ensure the long-term operation of the excavator. The equipment is therefore generally replaced in the event of an anomaly (theft, oxidation, breakage, etc.).
