The conventional 68°C chrome sprinkler head , with a 5 mm glass bulb, replaces a defective or worn head on a sprinkler system. It can be mounted either as a pendant or a vertical surface .
The liquid inside the bulb expands when heated and breaks the glass at 68°C , triggering the flow of water. 1/2" NPT thread, maximum pressure 12.1 bar, UL listed and VdS approved.

Description
Replace a faulty head with an approved and compatible part
The conventional 68°C chrome-plated sprinkler head is designed to replace defective or worn heads on sprinkler systems. It is a conventional style, installed either in a downward-facing or upward-facing position. In both configurations, it produces a spherical water spray , with approximately 50% of the flow directed upwards and 50% downwards, unlike a standard hanging sprinkler head which primarily directs water downwards.
Operation via glass bulb
This head incorporates a 5 mm glass bulb filled with a heat-sensitive liquid. At 68°C , its activation temperature, this liquid expands sufficiently to break the bulb and trigger the water flow. The flow coefficient K is 80.6 l/min.bar?½ , a value used to size the system's water supply.
Installation and maintenance
During installation , applying a sealant to the 1/2" NPT thread before tightening is strongly recommended. Caution: if using tools during installation, ensure the torque is between 9.5 and 19 Nm. Excessive torque can deform the head's inlet and cause a leak. This fitting should never be used to suspend an object and should only be cleaned by gentle dusting.
End of life and compliance
The bulb is not replaceable separately: if it breaks or to change the activation temperature, the entire head must be replaced. It must never be painted, plated, coated, or modified in any other way after leaving the factory.
